The Art of Water (Limited Edition Print)
In 2016, members of the professional artists’ group Peak District Artisans were invited to create a new piece of work in response to one of The Chatsworth Festival’s three themes, for exhibition at Chatsworth during “Art Out Loud”. Created in response to the theme “Chatsworth: the Garden, the Land and Art” the Cascade House at Chatsworth becomes newly fluid as the lines of man and the curves of nature are combined.

Water has transformed Michela’s image making and a grid of 100 images taken from her “Liquid Light” portfolio forms the basis for the image. In contrast to her usual method of working - where images are created in camera with minimal post processing - here she has employed layers and masks of varying opacity to reimagine a familiar view and celebrate “The Art of Water”.

The exhibition at Chatsworth marked a fitting way for Peak District Artisans to celebrate their 25th anniversary, having been established as a group by Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire, in 1991. Inspired by the current Duke and Duchess of Devonshire’s passion for art, The Chatsworth Festival: Art Out Loud is a literary festival dedicated exclusively to talks by those with a connection to the art world - as artists, collectors or writers.

A popular image which always gets a positive reaction, available as a Limited Edition Print in 2 sizes: 50 cms and 23 cms. Edition size is 50.
